Many people travel the world, bursting in bar rooms full of strangers and the unknown, with their swagger in full effect. But to many of us, we choose to be in the corner, listen to the sounds of the music in our own little world. Not many people may exist in our little section of the world, but we still like to try and see the rest of the world from within our own bubble. Here are a few tips to help you on this new journey, even if your introverted, shy, scared or nervous!
Plan For Everything…
The first tip is to do your research! Find out where you want to go, what its’ like. Find a good place to stay, whether it is a friend couch or a fancy hotel, ensure it is somewhere that you are comfortable. Discover what some of the things you can do at your destination, be it surfing, or hiking or painting classes! Know what the words and writing for help and the local emergency services are too in case your in need of help!
But Expect Anything
While you plan for everything on your trip, make sure to leave room for the unexpected. Part of an adventure is learning about and from the unexpected things that come up along the way. It may be that you decide to venture into the aquarium on your way to the seaside diner that you found on Google, or even that a man asked if you wanted to learn guitar and you said yes. Life is about making new connections, learning new skills and meeting new faces.
Explore New Horizons
There wouldn’t be any reason to leave where you were if it wasn’t to experience something new. You should seek to expand your own personal horizons. Even if it is trying a new food or a new dance to jumping out of an air plane into the Alps, pushing ones boundaries are what make life worth living, whether you are doing it alone or with others.
Relax When It’s Time To Relax
Don’t push yourself to hard, and rest when it’s time to rest. When the sun falls, your body (usually) decides that it is time to fall asleep and you shouldn’t fight it! What better way to recharge after a long day then laying down with your favorite comfort in hand and relax? Travel should be as relaxing as it is new!
Return Home With Wind Under Your Sails
When you finally get home, take a new perspective from your travels. Apply it to your everyday life to make your own life a little more exotic and fun. Travel shouldn’t just be with you when your feet are on the road, it remains with you as the experience defines your everyday!
